The house across the school
16mm short film, 2'35''
Screened at MoMA with Mono no Aware, 2024
In this short film, shot with a 16mm Bolex camera, my grandmother’s voice traces memories of her childhood home in Izmir, a place that no longer exists. Against this narration, I perform quiet rituals in New York City that maintain a connection to family, displacement, and inherited memory, using the body as a site where belonging persists.
